Website redesign services built to improve the rankings you've earned
A new look shouldn't cost you the Google traffic your old site spent years building. We redesign small-business websites with every old address mapped and redirected, the pages that already bring in calls kept or improved, and a faster, mobile-first build underneath. Most of our work is in WordPress, and we regularly move businesses off Wix, Squarespace, Webflow, Shopify or a dated theme. You keep the domain and every login.

When a quick refresh won't cut it anymore
- I'm a little embarrassed to send people to our website.
- It looks cramped and broken on a phone.
- Only one person ever knew how to edit it, and they're gone.
- Our services and towns have changed, but the site still says the old thing.
- Pages take several seconds to show up.
- We've outgrown the builder we started on.
A redesign that protects what already works
A full URL inventory first
Before anything changes, we crawl the current site and pull every address from your sitemap, Search Console and analytics. Each page gets a decision: keep, merge, rewrite or retire.
A 301 redirect for every changed address
Old URLs point straight to their closest new match, never just to the home page. We test every redirect before launch so visitors and Google don't hit a dead end.
Ranking content carried over with care
Pages that already pull in searches keep their topic, headings and best wording. Thin or outdated pages get rewritten in plain English, and you approve every change.
Fast, mobile-first pages
We design for the phone first and test against Google's Core Web Vitals: loading (LCP), responsiveness (INP, which replaced FID in 2024) and layout stability (CLS).
Easier for everyone to use
Readable contrast, real buttons, alt text and menus that work from a keyboard, built to WCAG 2.2 AA practices. We can't give legal sign-off on ADA compliance, but we fix the barriers most sites have.
Ready for search engines and AI answers
Clear service and area pages, schema markup that describes your business, a fresh XML sitemap and an llms.txt file, so search engines and AI assistants can tell what you do and where you work.
Moving off Wix, Squarespace or an old host without losing your place
Site builders aren't designed to let you leave. A Wix site can't be exported to another host at all, and Squarespace's WordPress export leaves out store pages, extra blogs and all of the styling. So we rebuild the site properly, move content over by hand where we have to, and switch over in a way that keeps your search history, inbox and tracking intact. WordPress migrations get the same care, whether you're changing hosts or leaving an old theme behind.
- Every old page address mapped to its new one, with 301 redirects live on launch day
- DNS switched at a quiet hour, with the record lifetime (TTL) lowered beforehand so the change spreads quickly
- Mail (MX) records copied exactly, so your inbox keeps working through the move
- Google Analytics and Search Console kept connected and verified
- The new sitemap submitted, and Search Console watched for 404 errors in the weeks after
- Your domain stays registered to you, wherever the site ends up living
How a redesign runs
- Audit and inventoryWe crawl the old site, note which pages rank and which bring in calls, and agree on the page list for the new one.
- Design and writeYou see the design with your real words and photos, not placeholder text. We rewrite what needs it and leave what's working alone.
- Build on a staging siteThe new site lives at a private address you can click through. Redirects, forms, speed and phone layouts are all tested there before launch.
- Launch dayWe switch the DNS, turn on the redirects, submit the new sitemap and ask Google to recrawl your most important pages.
- Watch the first weeksWe check Search Console for crawl errors and broken links, compare traffic with the old site and fix anything that slipped. A little movement while Google recrawls is normal.
What changes the price of a redesign
Every redesign is quoted on what your site actually needs, and you see the scope in writing before work starts. The starting price covers a typical small-business site. These are the things that move it.
From $1,500. Your free audit comes with an exact quote.
What changes the price
- How many pages you have, and how many need rewriting rather than moving
- The platform you're leaving, since Wix and Squarespace content has to be moved by hand
- Online booking, payments, a store or member logins
- Whether you also need photography, a new logo or brand colors
- Connections to your CRM, scheduling or quoting tools
- How many old URLs need mapping and redirecting
Questions owners ask us.
How much does a website redesign cost?
It depends on the number of pages, the platform you're leaving and features like booking or a store. The starting price is on our services page. After the free audit we send a written quote with the scope spelled out, so nothing comes as a surprise later.
Will I lose my Google rankings if I redesign my website?
Redesigns lose traffic when old URLs vanish without redirects or when pages that ranked get cut. We map and redirect every changed address, keep the content that works and watch Search Console after launch. Some movement while Google recrawls is normal. Nobody can promise positions, but we take every known step to protect what you've built.
How long does a website redesign take?
Most small-business redesigns take about two to three weeks from kickoff to launch. Bigger sites, stores and moves off Wix or Squarespace take longer, and the quickest projects are the ones where content and feedback come back promptly.
Can you redesign my existing WordPress site?
Yes, WordPress is where we do most of our work. Depending on the state of your theme and plugins, we either rebuild on a clean, lightweight theme or refresh the design you have. Either way the work happens on a staging copy, so your live site keeps running until launch.
Can you move my site from Wix or Squarespace to WordPress?
Yes. Neither platform exports a complete site to WordPress, so we rebuild the pages, move your text and images, and redirect every old address. If you'd rather stay put, we can also redesign within Wix, Squarespace, Webflow or Shopify.
Do I own the new website?
Yes. The domain stays registered in your name, the hosting and admin accounts are yours, and you get every login. If you ever decide to move on, the whole site goes with you.
Do I need to sign a contract for a redesign?
A redesign is a one-time project with a written scope. We'll walk you through the terms with your quote, so you know exactly what you're agreeing to before anything is signed.
