AI search optimization, so assistants can find and recommend you
More customers now ask ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews, Gemini, Perplexity or Copilot for a recommendation before they search the usual way. Those answers are built from whatever the assistant can read about you: your website, your Google profile, directories and reviews. When those sources disagree or say very little, you get left out or described wrongly. We make your business facts clear and consistent everywhere AI looks, then check every month what the assistants actually say about you. Nobody controls these answers, but we can make it much easier for AI to recommend you.
Included in Local SEO (from $499/mo per location) and National & AI search SEO (from $999/mo). No separate fee.
When AI assistants don't seem to know you
- I asked ChatGPT for someone like us in our town, and we weren't there.
- An AI answer listed a service we stopped offering years ago.
- It gave out an old phone number, or said we were closed.
- New customers mention competitors an AI tool suggested to them.
- Our website says one thing, Yelp another and Google a third.
- We keep hearing about GEO and AEO but don't know where to start.
The groundwork AI assistants rely on
One set of business facts, everywhere
We settle your official name, phone, towns served, services and starting prices, then make them match on your website, Google, Bing, Apple, Yelp, Facebook and the directories in your trade. When your details conflict, an assistant has no reason to trust any version of them.
Structured data that describes you
Organization or LocalBusiness, Service and FAQPage markup, matched to what's visible on each page, so software can read who you are, what you offer and where you work. It can't force an answer, but it takes the guesswork out.
Answer-first pages and FAQs
Each service page opens with a plain answer: what you do, where, for whom and roughly what it costs. FAQs cover the questions customers really ask, written so an assistant can quote them accurately.
Crawler access and llms.txt
We check robots.txt, your firewall and your host so search crawlers like OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot and Bingbot aren't blocked by accident. We also add an llms.txt file, a short plain-text summary of your business for the AI tools that read one.
A presence on the sources AI cites
Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, Yelp, industry directories, local best-of lists and your reviews. We fill the gaps, correct the errors and help you earn genuine mentions on the sites your customers already trust.
Monthly checks of what AI says
We ask the major assistants the questions your customers ask, such as who to call for a repair in your town, and record whether you're named, how you're described and which sources they cite. You see what changed and what we're fixing next.
What does ChatGPT say about your business today?
Before changing anything, we look at where you stand. As part of the free audit, we ask ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Copilot the kinds of questions your customers ask, for your services and your towns. Then we note who gets recommended, whether you appear, what each assistant says about you and which websites it leans on for the answer. Results differ from one assistant to the next and can shift from week to week, so we look for patterns rather than one lucky answer. You get a plain list of what's wrong, from outdated details to missing listings, and what we'd fix first.
- Which assistants mention you, and for which questions
- The competitors they recommend instead
- Wrong or outdated facts: phone, hours, services, prices or towns
- The sources each answer cites, and whether you're listed on them
- Whether your robots.txt or firewall is turning AI search crawlers away
- The first fixes we'd make, in order
How AI search optimization works
- Baseline checkWe run your key questions through the major assistants and record where you appear, what they say and what they cite.
- Fix the factsYour details are made consistent on your website, your Google profile and the listings AI leans on most.
- Make the site easy to readStructured data, answer-first copy, FAQs, crawler access and llms.txt are added or corrected.
- Build your presenceWe fill gaps on the directories, review sites and local lists that keep turning up as sources.
- Track and adjustEach month we rerun the same questions, report what moved and adjust the plan.
Part of your local SEO or national SEO plan
AI search optimization isn't sold on its own. It's built into every Local SEO and National & AI search SEO plan, and how much of the month goes to it depends on these.
Included in Local SEO (from $499/mo per location) and National & AI search SEO (from $999/mo). No separate fee.
What changes the price
- How many locations, services and towns you want to be recommended for
- How inconsistent your business details are across the web today
- Whether your website can carry structured data and new FAQs, or needs rebuilding first
- How many questions and assistants we track each month
Questions owners ask us.
Can you get my business recommended by ChatGPT?
Nobody can promise that, and it's worth being wary of anyone who does. Each assistant picks its own sources, and its answers vary from person to person and over time. What we can do is improve the odds: accurate facts, clear pages and a presence on the sites these tools cite, so recommending you is the easy choice.
What's the difference between GEO, AEO and SEO?
They're overlapping names for related work. SEO is about ranking in regular search results. Answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO) are about being quoted or recommended inside AI answers. Most of the groundwork is shared: a crawlable site, clear content and trustworthy information about you elsewhere. AI search puts extra weight on consistent facts, mentions on other sites and checking the answers themselves.
Do I need special markup or an llms.txt file?
Google says its AI Overviews and AI Mode don't need any special schema or AI text file, and that normal search basics apply. We still add accurate structured data and a small llms.txt, because they're easy to maintain and describe you cleanly for any tool that reads them. Google also stopped showing FAQ rich results in 2026, yet clear questions and answers on a page remain easy text for people and assistants to use.
Which AI assistants do you check?
ChatGPT, Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode, Gemini, Perplexity and Microsoft Copilot, plus others if your customers use them. Each one draws on different sources, so a fix that shows up quickly in one may take longer in another.
Should I block AI crawlers from my website?
It's your decision, and it's really two separate ones. Search crawlers such as OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot fetch pages so assistants can show and cite them, and blocking those can keep you out of their answers. Training crawlers such as GPTBot collect content for building future models. Google-Extended works the same way for Gemini and has no effect on your regular Google Search listing. We'll explain the trade-offs and set it up the way you choose.
How is this different from your local SEO or national SEO plans?
Local SEO includes a check on AI answers as one part of winning the map pack, and national SEO does the same for brands that sell beyond the map. This service is the focused version: deeper fixes and monthly tracking across more assistants and more questions. It can run on its own or alongside either plan.
How long before AI assistants start mentioning us?
It varies by assistant. Changes on your own website can be picked up as soon as crawlers come back, while directory and review updates spread more slowly, and some answers still lean on older training data. Monthly reports show you what's moving, and we tell you plainly when something isn't.
